The story

Why this ring gets talked about

In their November 2017 engagement interview with the BBC, Prince Harry said: “the main stone itself I sourced from Botswana”. The two smaller diamonds came from his mother’s jewellery collection.

The ring originally sat on a yellow-gold band. In 2019 it was seen on a new band set with small diamonds; reports say the reset was done alongside an eternity ring by Lorraine Schwartz, though that isn’t confirmed.

What it means for you: a three-stone ring is the classic way to include family stones. Many Hatton Garden jewellers will reset diamonds you already own around a new centre stone, which can make a ring both personal and better value.
