What it's like to shop at David Morris
David Morris started on Hatton Garden in 1962, moved to Conduit Street, and has been on Bond Street since 1996. It's still family-owned — David Morris's son Jeremy has run the business since 2003.
The flagship at 180 New Bond Street is a Grade II*-listed townhouse from 1908, with one of the last working jewellery workshops on Bond Street upstairs. That matters for an engagement ring: pieces are made in the building, and the bespoke engagement service runs through that workshop.
The house is known for natural diamonds and coloured stones, and its history includes redesigning the Miss World crown in 1972 and supplying jewels for James Bond films. Engagement prices we found start around £9,500 for a GIA-certified solitaire of just under a carat. Many pieces are price on request. There's no online booking page — use their contact page to arrange a visit.
Our view: of the Bond Street names, David Morris is the closest in spirit to Hatton Garden — a family maker with a workshop. You'll pay Bond Street prices for it. If having the ring made by a named London house matters to you, it's a strong choice. If you want the same made-to-order approach with more say over the price, Hatton Garden's bespoke workshops do the same work a mile east.
